Dynamic wind performance
Like the original hardware, Windmaschine starts with resonators. You can load one of the 19 available resonator sets into each of the four source channels and bring the sound engine to life with our powerful wind modulation system.
Blending colors of wind
Manually blend between individual colors of wind or let the wind modulation system mix it for you. With Windmaschine, the possibilities are vast, and the perfect wind effect is always within reach.
Customizable wind FX
The FX section allows you to adjust Windmaschine’s sound character to match your project’s mood or create a completely new effect. Tailored effects encourage exploration and creativity with diverse wind sounds.

Breathtaking Sound Quality:
Windmaschine features a beautiful convolution reverb engine with custom-recorded true stereo impulse responses. These include nature, exterior, indoor, and musical instrument recordings, enabling Windmaschine to produce lively textures, drones, and atmospheres.

For Star Wars Battlefront (1), one of our overriding goals was to work with the original recordings as much as possible. One of the components of the icy Hoth winds in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back was clearly from the Mole Richardson machine; some of the raw material even had “Mole Wind” in the name!
Initially, the material in Tonsturm’s “Windhowler” library was a perfect complement to this original material and helped flesh out our version of Hoth.
Then, when we started working on SWBF2, Tonsturm was kind enough to let us have early access to their beta version of Windmaschine. It enabled us to authentically extend the sound pool and add a whole new laver of timbres and fidelity that would have been hard to achieve without the flexibility of this wonderful instrument.
