Spiral Strings is a two layer instrument – it is divided into LAYER A & LAYER B. Functions for both layers are identical.
You can choose all parameters separately and individually for each layer.
We've integrated a powerful modulation matrix. There are three LFO’s and two Step Sequencers.
Including cross-modulation capabilities.
You can choose modulation destinations for parameters on the Main & Effects Page.

The standout feature of Spiral Strings is the True StereoReverb. We've sampled Hi-Q IRs of the instrument, as well as the most characterful hardware and rooms..
You can also choose between fine- tuned Filter, Distortion and Tape Saturation.
This was quite tricky to achieve and took some time to develop. However, the end result is truly worth it and gave the instrument a new dimension.
We carefully selected only our finest IR's of super characterful reverb hardware, rooms, and the instrument itself.
8 play styles - ranging from “normal” legato to more crazy ones like like Sul Ponticello or using a titanium stick, etc.
We recorded “workable” textures and phrases - all bound to their key-note and the musical scale in general
Three round robins of 10-15 second long files
Three microphone positions - recorded with low-noise sounddesign mics and vintage and modern Hi-End gear grails
Uncommon True Stereo Reverb engine with our own crazy IR's
One of the most weird instruments ever built. Two classical Cello strings that are attached to 3m long springs that are connected to two different drums…come on. The Space Cello doesn't have a classical body to resonate. The sound is transferred by the springs to the two drums that replace the normal body.
It was clear from the beginning that we only could do justice to the sound of the Spring Cello by capturing “performances” instead of sterile and separated tones. Matthias - professional Cello player from cologne - did a great job taking our crazy notes regarding unusual play styles.
But we also wanted the instrument to be something you can really work with - so every play style is bound to it's key note and the musical scale.
We recorded at a big studio in the Netherlands with the most low-noise sounddesign microphones and on the other side the most insane collection of vintage and modern Hi-End gear grails.

We've implemented a True Stereo Convolution Reverb in Kontakt (very tricky to achieve btw) - which was such a game changer sonically.
The only downside is that the instrument uses double the voices when played. So keep that in mind when layering multiple instances of Spiral Strings.
